COC meeting Minutes of 10th Septmeber

The meeting of the COC held on 10th September 2008 endorsed the decision of indefinite strike of Confederation.
Calls upon all affiliates to start preparation and mobiles membership for strike ballot in November 2008
Observe 19th September as strike declaration day
The meeting of the COC held on10th September in the ITEF office discussed the decisions taken in the meeting of extended National Executive of the Confederation held on 26th August in Delhi. General Secretary Com Prasad who attended meeting briefed the deliberations of the meeting. The meeting after discussion endorsed the decision of the Confederation to organize indefinite strike in the first week of December to protest against the action of Government in not accepting any of the demands of employees for improving the recommendations of the 6CPC. The meeting strongly condemned in Government not accepting the demands like fixation factor of 2.625 of existing basic pay, increment rate of 5%, minimum wage of Rs.10000, non abolition of Group D posts, stopping action of Corporatisation of Central Services and implementation of arbitration awards. The meeting also welcomed the decision to observe 19th September as strike declaration day. The meeting noted that 19th September signifies very important day in the movement of central Government employees as on that day 20 years back employees had gone on strike demanding 100% neutralization of increase in cost of living index and automatic payment of DA. The strike finally yielded result in the form of recommendation of 3rd CPC. The meeting called upon all affiliates to observe the “Strike Declaration Day’ on 19th September by holding lunch hour meeting and explaining to the membership the circumstances under which strike action has become inevitable
Special collection: The meeting felt that the Confederation and COC should be strengthened financially to meet the future challenges. Therefore the meeting decided to raise special fund of Rs.100 from each member and remit Rs.50 out of it COC. The COC out of this amount remit Rs.20 per member to the Confederation. It is appealed to all the affiliates to make collection of special fund a success.
