7th STATE CONFERENCE MINUTES

Confederation of Central Government Employees & Workers,

Karnataka Unit, Bangalore

Proceedings of the 7th Conference held on 21st April 2011

The 7th Conference of the Confederation of Central Government Employees & Workers, Karnataka unit was held in Bangalore on 21st April 2011. More than 75 delegates representing Bangalore and from 11 districts viz. Bangalore Rural, Ramnagar, Mandya, Mysore, Kolar, Chikmagalur, Davangere, Belgaum, Udupi, Dharward and Hassan attended the meeting. The organisations which represented in the meeting included all wings of NFPE, AG’s, Income Tax, Central Excise, Census, Ground Water Board, Survey of India, GSI, Civil Accounts etc. The proceedings were conducted by the Presidium consisting President Com P Kamaleshan & Working President Com S.Radhakrishna

The conference with salute to Martyrs Column led by Com KKN Kutty and Com Raja Secretary General & Secretary respectively of Confederation Hqrs. Com S.Radhakrishna on behalf of the presidium welcomed the guests and delegates and explained about the challenges before the CG movement in coming days. Com KKN Kutty inaugurating the conference briefly traced the background of our demands and also the events for the last three years and developments in JCM front. He explained about the Charter of demands adopted by the National Executive of the Confederation in its meeting held on 1-12-2010 in Mumbai. He called upon all the affiliates and their leadership to prepare the membership for the ensuing struggle to achieve the demands by popularising and educating the membership about the demands. Com Raja in his speech stressed the need for decimating the information among members because informed members will be better prepared for implementing the programmes of the organisation. Com Prasanna Kumar Secretary, CITU Karnataka,Com Ravindran Pillai Vice President AIDEF, Com Bhaskaran Secretary P&T Pensioners Association and Com Ratnakar Shenoy BEFI graced the meeting and greeted the delegates.

The General Secretary Com P.S.Prasad then placed the report of the activities of the unit since 2007 to 2011 and also placed the audited accounts for the years 2007-08 to 2010-11. After discussion the house unanimously approved the report and accounts. After lunch there was an interactive session with national leaders on various issues like issues arising after the implementation of pay commission report, anomaly committee, CGHS problems, functioning of Confederation and JCM charter of demands etc. The central leadership i.e. com Kutty and Raja actively involved and answered all the questions and clarified all the points. The delegates were very happy

The election to the Executive committee was held and Com Manjunath Circle Secretary P III declared that following members have been elected unanimously to the executive committee.

The meeting adopted a policy programme resolution which endorsed the charter of demands adopted by the National Council of Confederation and decided to take all measures to implement the calls of HQRS successfully.

The meeting also adopted resolutions on CGHS problems

President Com Kamaleshan addressing the delegates called upon the leadership to prepare themselves for struggles to achieve our demands. He was confident our unit will be in forefront of movement of workers. He thanked the central leadership for their guidance and the delegates for their active participation in the deliberations. He declared the Conference closed at 5 PM amidst vibrant slogans reflecting the determination of membership to march on with unity and purpose

7th Pay Commssion

Central staff seek seventh Pay Commission

Hyderabad, May 16: Stating that central government employees were not happy with the recommendations of the 6th pay commission, Com SK Vyas, President of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers (CCGEW), demanded constitution of 7th pay commission to resolve problems of employees. He was speaking at a state-level convention of CCGEW held at Hyderabad on Sunday.

Com KKN Kutti, Secretary General of CCGEW was also present.
